Role of media in our society
Social media is an amazing tool but it’s really the face - to –

The term media is derived from
medium, which means carrier or mode. Media denotes an item specifically
designed to reach a large audience or viewers. The term was first used with the
advent of newspapers and magazines. However, with the passage of time, the term
broadened by the inventions of radio, TV, cinemas and internet.
In the world of today, media has
become almost as necessary as food and clothing. It is true that media is
playing an outstanding role in strengthening the society. Its duty is to
inform, educate and entertain the people. It helps us to know current situation
around the world. The media has a strong social and cultural impact upon
society. Because of its inherent ability to reach large number of public, it is
widely used to convey message to build public opinion and awareness.
Now in the present, media has an oppressive
demand in all over the world as we call “Media is all in all to the world”. In
this promoted life, if you have media power you will a powerful man in the
world, otherwise you have a lot of money but you didn’t get any status in the
society to comfy the life because of not having the media power in your hand.
In the past when the media was not
so strong, when it is so strange. We were quite ignorant about what is
happening around us, but today we come to know quickly what is happening in our
environment and what is going on around us by the help of media.
In this age when there are so many
channels and newspapers that we cannot ignore its importance and its
responsibility in the society. It should know its responsibility towards
society.
Media has lot of responsibility on
its shoulders as to inform the people about weather, politics, war, health,
finance, science and technology, fashion, music, sport etc. The need for more
and more information media includes radio, TV and internet. It should fell its
responsibility to educate the society in a positive was today’s society is very
more influenced by the role of media.
Media has two sources:
Print media and Electronic media.
Newspapers magazines and other which is written or printed is included in the print
media the news papers have their own importance, it preach their own ideology
as well. And electronic media include radio, television and internet etc are
included in electronic media television is not a bad thing but in fact is a
resource of media that can be used to educate and entertain people of all age.
There are many programs on television which is very useful for educate the
people like Satyamev jayete is very successful program which is held by Amir

information whenever and wherever they want.
They tempt the reader to believe the
statement to be true. They repeat the news through the different papers and the
readers by reading in different papers believe them. The selection of the news

Media plays a very important key
role in the building of society. And if media plays its role honestly it will
be a great force in building the nation. It plays a great vital role, in

youngest ever Nobel peace prize recipient on October 10, 2014. Ms Malala. who

helping her for the education of women.
Media has a power of educating
people by the radio, television , internet newspapers, magazines, etc. media
plays a significant role by the internet we can get all the reports and
information by only one click of the mouse. We change our minds according to
the information provided through it.
Mass media can be used various purposes.
Entertainment:
The original idea behind the
creation of various ‘media means’ was to entertain masses. Radio, TV, cinemas
and magazines spend most of their resources targeting on entertaining items and
programs. Because of the growing population and developing lifestyle, the
demand for more entertainment is increasing. Every year billion of dollar is
traded in entertainment industry.
Education:
The power of media is so extensive
and huge in the range of education. It can be educate people with very little
cost. Just imagine a classroom in every city with thousands of students (people)
being taught by just one teacher (media). A media is a one teacher who taught
people all the information and reports about latest happening around them and
the world. By the source of media very work is done in spreading the education
all over the world.
Advertisement:
Almost all business concerns utilize
the power of media to sell their products. Advertisement is very important to
popular the shops and showrooms by advertise, Media getting many funds from the
companies. They set advertise on television and press into the news paper and
upload the information on the website for more advertisement and explain more
about it in the newspaper to become popular, between the people.
They spent huge amount of the money
for the advertisement, are invested in media for marketing of a product. The
more attractive the advertisement, the more people will follow it.
Disadvantage:
Even though there are lot of plus
points for use of media which we had explain it, but there is also many disadvantage
associated with it. Media has the bad effect of inducing baseless ideas through
advertisement. People are forced to buy harmful or substandard products.
